Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium – June 30th, 2025 – VOCSens, the Belgian deeptech company redefining multi-gas sensing, is proud to announce an investment from Agri Investment Fund (“AIF”), the venture capital fund of the group Boerenbond (Farmers’ Union) dedicated to supporting high-potential startups developing technology to solve real-world agricultural problems. This investment marks a strong vote of confidence in VOCSens’ mission to deliver next-generation gas sensing solutions that serve both environmental sustainability and economic efficiency, starting with the agricultural sector.
VOCSens designs and develops highly integrated, precise, and cost-efficient multi-gas sensor modules that monitor air quality and gas emissions in real time. With this funding, which complements the earlier commitments from the existing investors, the company will accelerate the industrialization of its ammonia sensing technology, enabling large-scale deployment on livestock farms to better manage emissions, improving animal welfare and supporting farmers in meeting future regulations.
“This investment allows us to take a critical step forward in bringing our ammonia sensing technology to market at scale,” said Filip Frederix, CEO of VOCSens. “We’re delivering tools that help farmers comply with environmental rules while reducing costs and improving operations. It’s a clear win for the planet, the animals and the farmers.”
VOCSens’ sensing platform stands out with its multi-gas capability, miniaturization, precision, durability, and affordability, making it uniquely suited for demanding sectors like agriculture. Ammonia is one of the most pressing environmental concerns in livestock farming, impacting both the environment but also farming business. With VOCSens’ technology, farmers gain access to continuous, accurate data they can act on, without expensive sensor infrastructure or maintenance burdens.
While agriculture is a key focus, VOCSens is also deploying its multi-gas sensing platform in other strategic markets such as smart buildings (ventilation, safety) and automotive (thermal runaway detection, cabin air quality), where compact, high-performance gas monitoring is increasingly in demand.
“We support ambitious teams that use breakthrough technology to tackle real agricultural challenges,” said Patrik Haesen, CEO at AIF. “VOCSens has the team and the tech to become a leader in sensing solutions that drive both profitability and sustainability, specifically in agriculture where there is a clear and urgent need for improved technologies to monitor and manage emissions.”
